This portable digital gauge measures non-metallic coatings, such as paint and film, on metal surfaces. It is designed for quick, non-destructive checks, including measuring vehicle paint thickness.

Use it on iron, aluminium or car steel substrates only. It is not suitable for stainless steel or other substrate materials.

Useful details

The gauge has a backlit LCD and a resolution of 0.05 mm, with a stated error range of ±0.1 mm. The listing notes that readings around 0.1 mm may indicate original paint, while readings above 0.25 mm may indicate repainting.
